The uniit's design and operation are improved. I have purchased many Frigidaire a/c units over the years. I have been impressed with this one. Some of the prior units came with a remote temperature sensor that worked quite well. However this model did not come with this feature. The controls do however work quite well and enable efficient operation.

I installed the window unit thru the wall in our family room. It was an easy install that took less than a day to remove the 50 year old unit and install the new 18,000 BTU unit. It is very quite and it cools our whole family room and large kitchen. I especially like the remote control feature.Great Buy!

Have only had the unit up and running for a week or so, but works as it should. While you can hear it running, it's not obnoxious and doesn't interfer with conversation. Not sure if the remote is supposed to have an LED on it, or not. Setup for WiFi was a minor nightmare, thus the four stars. Tech support was not that helpful, if at all. Between my son and I we finally got it to work, but don't remember how. The slide out chassis made install much easier and the features are a-plenty!

Looked at the specs before purchasing. Had everything we wanted: Eco mode (shuts off when target temp is reached, fan turns back on now and then to check if it needs to cool some more). Can be controlled with smart phone through wi-fi. Ours is wall mounted 7 feet above floor, not fun getting a ladder to change settings.

The unit does what it is required except for one complaint. The government may mandate that a device must start in economy mode but if a customer wants to change the settings the device should retain the customer settings. Allow an override. This unit is not running 24x7x365 and having the customer change settings every time it is turned on is a unnecessary burden.

Frigidaire WIFI Through Wall (or window) AC

Replace older Frigidaire 25,000 BTU AC with this more energy star efficient 18,000 model. Absolutely love it especially with the WIFI app. Weather heat warnings are being issued now (June / July) and I just turn my AC on remotely and set temp and it will cool shop down to reasonable temp so my paints, electronics, and camera network equipment are not affected by extreme heat. I can also set a task in the app for a timer. I wish it had connectivity with Apple Homekit.

I recently replaced my 2008 Model Frigidaire window AC with this. It was nice that the dimensions to slide the new unit in to the old chassis was very convenient. The unit was very easy to install. We purchased this unit to replace one that was at least 25 years old. It was still working, we believe, but didn™€™t want to take a chance it wouldn™€™t make it through another summer. This unit met our criteria for cooling capacity, efficiency, and slide-out chassis. The WiFi connectivity is a welcome added feature. Although it™€™s still Spring, early use looks like we made a good choice. And being a new unit, the chassis is lighter than the old one, making it easier to maneuver. We always take it in for the winter, so that™€™s a plus also.

We I purchased the Frigidaire 18000 btu connected air conditioner for my apartment in 2021. The apartment is over 1000 square feet. The unit does a great job cooling it down. I love how it can be controlled from the app and operated even when you are not at home. No more coming home to a hot house! Fridgidaire 18000 but connected window cooler

This unit seems to be a good unit and it cools fairly well. It was replacing a 24000 but GE window unit that finally died after more than 20 years. That thing could really blow out a lot of cold air. The new units only have a one year warranty. It seems it is that way for most brands on these window units. I got the wifi connected model which is only $20 or $30 more than the non connected model. I would definitely buy the connected model. This allows you to set programs and schedules for the cooler from your smart phone. This cooler is definitely quieter then my old unit. The led display that shows the temperature is small and is only visible for a short time after you make a change to the a/c unit with the controller. I am sure this is like this because people complained it was too bright when they were trying to sleep. Fridgidaire had one of the lowest prices on their website and they offered free 2nd day shipping. I figured with the fast shipping the unit would have less chance of being damaged in shipping. I was wrong, it was damaged anyway. Fridgidaire was good about offering to send me a free replacement or a 20% discount on the damaged unit it if I wanted to keep it. The Frigidaire brand was one of if not the top brand rated by consumer reports. As expensive as these units are, it is too bad they only have a one year warranty.
