Range hood looks great, but the blower unit/fan is bent and unbalanced and resulting in the unit being extremely loud and rattling. For the price point expected a higher quality product

As indicated by other reviewers, this hood has one fan only, which covers the back left side burner. If you cook on the front right side, you will see some air flow goes toward the left and the rest just go straight up into the room. I am disappointed with GE, a company in home appliance business for decades, can be this unmindful! I don™™t recommend this product!

The hood met our expectations with the exception that the outside vent option with a round 7" dia. duct does not include a baffle. Ventilation is adequate. Noise levels good to great at all fan speeds, LED lighting great.

This range hood was the exact model that was installed just a week ago that did not work. I ordered a replacement and it was installed by a true Pro. The new replacement would not work either. Upon taking the insides out of the hood, the pro discovred a loose bank of controls inside and behind the push button controls that had not been properly installed into the holding brackets. He also discovered the same problem inside the old one that he removed.

In less than two years, the exhaust fan would not turn off. To turn it off, I had to use the circuit breaker. It wasn't worth it to get it fixed, so I bought a Broan GLA3 series, better product, less cost.

I love the look of the hood, however, the fan is only on the left side. Although the suction is strong enough to capture the entire stove top, I feel I should do all my heavy cooking on e far left upper burner to catch all the smoke and steam When I am using other burners. I don't see the suction as strong as directly under the fan which is on the left back side of the hood. my old hood from 30 years ago had good suction and it was on both sides. That is what I am used to. I do like that the screens are easy to remove and I wash them once a week to keep odors and build up to a minimum. It is loud, but that's how you know it works. Also the lights are very nice on it while you cook or just to turn on at night and leave on.

This range hood came with the new house and in less than a year when it is under warranty motor was making lot of grinding noise so the Bodewell person came and repaired it. He also mentioned that these motors are badly designed. Within one year after the repair, the motor is making the same grinding noise. Now the range hood is out of manufacturers warranty. I called the customer service and asked them to send me a new motor and they wanted the technician to come which would cost $140. I am very disappointed with my experience.

The unit functions beautifully and the dual lighting control allows for great illumination of the cooking surface on high and a less bright mode when not cooking. The ability to vent externally was a must for me. It is a bit noisy though when the fan is on high due to the vibration of the metal vent flap rattling. The medium speed has much less rattle and low speed has no rattle at all and still provides good ventilation when boiling water.

The hood matches nicely with the rest of the GE Profile appliances. It's loud even on low. Airflow and filtration seem to be good. Easy to use controls.

Will not buy another GE fan to replace this one that is now mal-functioning after just two years of moderate use. The touchpad is fritzy, coming on by itself with no stove/oven in use at all times of the day and night, the fan coming on in any of the speed settings, and the lights as well. Of course, it is past the warranty, but replacing a fan that requires as electrician as well as the cost of the appliance is unreasonable. Loved the look and profile of this fan, but it's a dud.

Bought this hood vent to go with my profile range. Thought if it™™s a profile it has to be good !! WRONG! It™™s horrible the installation was not fast the noise level is sooo bad you can only use it in the low speed any other speed sounds like a plane taking off. Really wish I read the reviews before buying!!! My old vent that was 1/2 the price was so much better !! Do better GE with your higher end appliances

I've had this unit for 2 years and, as another viewer pointed out, this model is only vented on the left side. The fan is on the left and butts up to the bottom of the grill, meaning the fan housing blocks all air on the right and the right side is completely useless. If there is a bit of smoke from a pan on the right, I can watch it swirling around up in the right space and then wafting up into the room, rather than getting sucked up into the vent. It's also quite loud on high, loud enough that the cook can't have a conversation with someone else.
Finally, I'd prefer a simple toggle switch for the light, instead of what it has, which is press once for high, twice for low, and again for off. If it's on high and you want it off, you have to press it, wait for it to dim to low before you can press it again to go off. Perhaps I'm an impatient person, but those few extra seconds of standing there are annoying. The light, which are positioned at the very front, face straight down, meaning the back burners don't get great lighting. I'm getting ready to build a new house and will not be buying this model again.

The design is good, but unfortunately, the efficiency and performance are disappointing. The motor stopped working after just 20 months of use. When I reached out to customer service for a fix, I was informed that the service alone would cost $120+, with additional charges for parts and labor. Given that the product's warranty should ideally cover 3-5 years, it's frustrating that it didn™™t even last that long.

This hood intermittently turns on by itself.
Approximately once a week the fan in the hood will turn on all by itself. I'm worried if someone isn't home to turn it off, it will keep running until it burns out or worse. We've had two technicians come out to look at it, and they say there is nothing they can do because they can't reproduce the issue. They believe there is an issue, but there's nothing they can do. The hood is under warranty. We bought all GE appliances when we remodeled our kitchen earlier this year, and this hood is the least expensive out of all five we bought, it seems like replacing the hood shouldn't be a problem.

I love this vent hood! I had it installed to vent outside. It is very quiet on the lower settings, but on high and the boost setting is as loud as vent hoods I have had in the past. The two bright LED lights are ample to illuminate the entire surface.
The two filters are heavy duty and can be put in the dishwasher. So glad I chose this GE model!!

It works, but ugly, over-large (extends too far beyond cabinetry, so watch your head). Wish we'd ordered a different unit that took up less space. Since it doesnt vent to outdoors, with our builder, choices were limited.

Good luck finding a replacement LED bulb that works correctly with the On/Night/Off setting. I've tried half a dozen "dimmable" LED bulbs, including a bunch of GE branded ones, and none will work with the "Night" setting which is the dimmed light level. The official replacement bulb is $23 and out of stock: https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/parts/spec/WB25X27211
Too bad they couldn't have engineered a hood vent that dims with commonly available bulbs.

Out of the box and installed, this range vent hood motor has excessive vibration, rattling and shaking the entire unit when set on highest speed. Motor rotation appears non-centric. Could not return to vendor, so am awaiting a factory service repair call. Will see how that goes.

This item came with no damage upon delivery. The video that is provided by GE mentioned a 10 minute install, however, that timeframe does not include going to the hardware store for mounting bolts(mounting screws were included, did not use) a power cord to the vent, which is not included, and the foil vent tape. Once you have all the necessary items, it's an easy install.

Fan is great except for the placements of the LED lights. They are place at the front of the hood, and only illuminate the very front / sides of the range and countertop below, leaving the back of the range in the dark. Need to rethink the light placement or make them adjustable.

This unit has less than 15" of surface area that pulls in air (left side only). The entire right side of the unit (more than 15") has no suction at all. Looking up inside the unit, it is clear that the fan housing completely blocks air from entering the fan from the right side of the unit. This design is defective. My sales person at the appliance store refuses to engage with me for a solution. The cost of a service call from another vendor, to investigate the problem, would just double my sunk costs (monetary loss).
Over the past year, I had been replacing my kitchen appliances with GE branded items (stove, dishwasher, freezer, plus this unusable vent hood). Given the poor performance of the vent hood and lack of response from the appliance store, this will be the last GE appliance that I buy. This brand new vent hood is getting yanked out and replaced with one that actually works.
