If I could give this range hood a zero, I absolutely would. It became completely unusable within two years, and the reason is inexcusable: the capacitive touch controls. This is one of the worst design choices GE could have made for a kitchen appliance.The touch panel started shorting out and glitching constantly. It would beep nonstop for no reason, and there was nothing we could do to stop it. We called an electrician to look at it, thinking it was a wiring issue on our end. He took one look and told us he sees this exact problem all the time with capacitive touch range hoods. His advice was blunt: avoid them entirely and stick with simple button controls, because touch panels like this fail constantly and it's a widespread, known issue.
We reached out to GE for help. Nothing. No real support, no acknowledgment that this is a recurring problem, no solution. Just left to deal with a malfunctioning, beeping range hood on our own.
We ended up ditching this unit entirely and switching to a different brand with old fashioned physical buttons. No regrets. It just works.If you're considering this model, do yourself a favor and walk away. The technology is unreliable, the support is nonexistent, and you will end up replacing it just like we did. Save your money and your sanity, and buy something else.

LOVE ALL THE FEATURES!!! Technology is great! Great! Connects to my phone. Ventilation is quiet. Design is modern. Controls easy to use. Comes with remote control and also connects to my IPhone.lighting is bright and has a lower light also. Controls easy to operate and digital display Filtration is quiet and efficient.

Front panel unreadable

Unit works but front panel is unreadable in daylight. Cannot see any of the controls to operate the unit, can only do so at night. We attempted to have GE come out to service the unit but they never showed up. I think the unit will be fine once I can view and operate the controls.

The is great at moving smoke and smell out of the cooking area. However, the lights need a redesign. Two of the three have dropped the outer cover and they will not keep the outer cover in place. Both of these lights are over burners I use most often. Finding an exact replacement is next to impossible. Yes there are GU10 led lights on amazon etc. But none of these match exactly what came withe unit.
Disappointed with this issue as the hood is less than 2 years old.

I appreciate the look and the functionality of my GE range hood. The display panel is sleek and easy to use. Timers for the lights and wifi accessibly make cooking fluid. One area of concern is the 3 LED light display under the hood. I have had 2 of the plastic covers to the lights suddenly drop and cannot be reattached. Not sure if the were glued on, but they are not a piece that can be readily fixed or adjusted. It requires a call

There is no or such such less backlight on the touch controls that you can™™t even figure out what option you are pressing. Only the clock timing appears bright and visible.
Functional enough but what will I do if I don™™t know or can™™t see which option I™™m pressing. Can we please add more backlight to the touch panel so people know right away what button they are pressing?

Good looking and quality features. Installation was not difficult, thanks to the available GE YouTube installation video. The WiFi allows operation from across the room which is a feature that I use much more than I thought. It is quiet and powerful...The stainless used is of excellent quality and looks great.

Added this with my smart induction cooktop and connected them, never need to touch the controls again! Turn on the cooktop and the vent & light come on! Finish cooking, turn off the cooktop and a few minutes later the vent & light go off. No fingerprints, quiet as can be, beautifully minimalist design. No more big clunky appliances for me!

I wish I read the reviews before purchasing this product. At first I was very excited about this product, it looks beautiful and seemed to be working just fine. Then one day, the lights flicker on the low setting, like a seizure waiting to happen. The brighter setting works like normal. There are several other reviews that state the same problem! We are waiting for a technician to address this. Absolutely disappointing to have something malfunction so often for such a high price.

We do like the hood, however are not real happy with the outside vent..very flimsy and the wind blows it and it makes noises. The install has not been good, but that is on the installers..It looks very nice and functions good.
