I'd counter top microwave has performed well. There is plenty of space to heat or cook all sizes of microwaveable dishware. Cooking seems to be evenly applied to food. I like the sound and volume of the timer. I would definitely purchase this item again.

We love the microwave. There was just a bit of a learning curve for how the buttons functioned compared to our old one. All my cookware has been able to fit in the large capacity. Everything has heated well and come out great with the exception of microwave popcorn. I have to stop it a few seconds early so it doesn't burn. Pretty soon my entire kitchen will be Kitchenaid products. When checking size make sure you consider where the feet are and not just overall size. Our microwave goes on a shelf and just barely fit.

Capacity is just big enough. Food cooks consistently and everything seems evenly cooked so far. The controls are a little confusing at first and they give you a ™€œquick start™€ paper but it isn™€™t very easy to follow or helpful. I haven™€™t used all functions. Apparently there may be a preheat option but no idea. This is the microwave our builders provide and there were not alternatives offered. We are happy with it for our purposes

The size and capacity of this microwave is great and the controls and features work well. It's unfortunate that the door handle on the first microwave we had that came with the new house, became inoperable within 6 months. The second microwave, that was replaced in October 2025, also just recently stopped working after about 8 months. Since it's still under warranty, we hope the 3rd microwave, which we're waiting to be installed, will last longer as we do like the Kitchen Aide Microwave.

Good feature but child lock mechanism is not durab

Child lock mechanism can be tricky to use, and the mechanism is not durable. One 2 occasion during 3 months use, the door release does not engage upon keypad unlock. First time im able to pry open with a screw driver. The second time, the trick doesnt work amd need to call for replacement and RMA. Now we had the child lock permanently disabled.

Problem Closing Door after 15 min of cook time

The microwave cooks evenly and is quiet. Unfortunately, we experienced an issue with it when cooking for around 15 minutes. When removing the dish then placing a new dish (2nd) in to cook the door would not close. The hooks in the door were no longer lined up. I™€™m assuming because the heat caused them to expand and move slightly. After 15 or more minutes (cool down) the door closed as expected and was fine, but you have to wait additional time to cook the 2nd dish. This got worse over time (2.5 months) eventually the door wouldn™€™t open. Yes, I pushed the stop button first. I have this recorded on video. I contacted support who sent a replacement. Waiting to see if the replacement is working as expected or not. The quality of new appliances aren't as good as years ago. The higher cost of a Kitchen Aid appliance should ensure a quality long-life trouble-free appliance but sadly this no longer seems to be true. Warranty support was very helpful and understanding and promptly replaced the microwave which is why this review is not 1 star. Thank you support for taking care of this in a timely manner. I™€™m hoping the replacement will be the quality product I thought I purchased.

Faulty microwave KMCS3022GSS3

I purchased the microwave model KMCS3022GSS3 about four years ago. Around two years ago, there was an incident where the microwave sparked internally, and I also experienced an electric shock when touching the unit. After contacting customer service, I was advised to replace it with a new unit. I proceeded to purchase the same model again, paying the full price along with installation costs. However, after a little over a year of use, the replacement unit has started to have issues as well, including smoke and a malfunctioning control panel, making it unsafe to continue using. I have been trying to reach customer service regarding this issue, but it has been extremely difficult to get through to them. This situation has been very frustrating, and I am concerned about the reliability and safety of this product.

Non-preset cooking is far from easy

Good: the oven is powerful and does a good job of heating food without hot-spots. Bad: 1) Instructions don™€™t make it clear *at all* how to control time and power settings when not using pre-sets. The steps are NOT intuitive. Thirty seconds is too long to reheat coffee that™€™s already warm, but figuring out how to heat it for twenty is an ordeal. The minimal documentation is outrageous, given how much the oven cost. 2) Pre-sets are in tiny print inside oven door, and unreadable.

My microwave is only 15 months old and no longer works. I have never had a microwave malfunction this quickly in my life. The microwave powers on but does not heat. I contacted customer service and they would not repair or replace. They said they would normally replace if it was under 1 year old. This is ridiculous that my only option is to spend another $700 on a replacement after only 15 months.

Parts break after 4-5 years

i have a KMCS3022GSS microwave oven, manufactured Jan 2021. It is 5 years later and both the door latch and the controller have broken. Plastic parts and electronics which dont hold up to everyday use in a family of 4. Repair is several hundred dollars. A new Kitchenaid Microwave is $659. Mediocre quality = drain on my wallet.

Also why would you have to push an unlock button to open the microwave? I can see it if the microwave is running but even when it stops you have to push an unlock button. Makes no sense.

This microwave stopped working in exactly 1 year and 10 days. Exactly 10days after the warranty is over. Lights working, Turn table working, but it wont heat the food. Customer service is asking 396$ for fixing this and additional 12 months warranty. I'm not sure how they are making a product that just last for an year. Frustrating experience :(

Confusing instructions

I am disappointed in the "ease of use" of this microwave. I have owned and used many microwave ovens in my life and find that setting the power and cook time is overly complicated and user UNfriendly. I am still trying to figure it out even after reading the instructions, which did not help at all. Who writes your manuals? Do they proofread them, or have someone unfamiliar with the product walk through the instructions to see if they make sense? Most microwave ovens allow you to set the power by pressing Power, then a number, and set the time by pressing the Cook Time and then the time, both would be displayed in the display window, so you'd know what you selected. This is what people expect. What you have done is not an improvement.

I am very happy with the microwave, but the order process was arduous, at best. We ordered the unit, then 2 days before it was scheduled to be delivered, we received a phone call stating that the unit we ordered from the website was no longer available. We were told it would be replaced with the equivalent unit and given a new delivery that was 2 weeks farther out. Two days before that delivery we were given a new date that was another 3 or 4 days later. All-in-all, a long and painful process.

I recently purchased a KitchenAid microwave and was shocked by the poor customer service experience. The product arrived with a broken part, and since then, it has been a nightmare trying to get help. I tried calling multiple times ™€" no one ever answered. The live chat system is just as bad; I had to wait 6™€“7 hours with no response, they connect and disconnect immediately for us being inactive for about 1 minutes, who will wait on the chat that much time?. After nearly three weeks, I finally reached someone on the phone who promised that a technician would visit. It™€™s been over 20 days now, and still no one has shown up or contacted me. This level of service is completely unacceptable for a brand like KitchenAid. I expected much better communication and support. If you value after-sales service, I strongly recommend thinking twice before purchasing their products.

Nice microwave works. Everyone complaining about how the door button breaks needs to just read the manual. There™€™s a two step door lock safety feature that can be disabled if the microwave is in an area where children can™€™t reach. Hold ™€œstop/ unlock™€ until you see dl : 0 Press ™€œ0™€ ™€¦ you™€™ll then see dl : 1 Press start. Hope this helps others. Kitchen aid you should do a better job informing your customers. There™€™s no video about this anywhere.

I purchased this microwave several weeks ago. The appearance matches my other KitchenAid appliances. It has many features my previous KitchenAid microwave had, which if helpful. However, the instructions are ambiguous regarding manually setting a time for operation. I called KitchenAid support, and the representative was reading from the operating manual as she did not know anything about the operational capabilities of the microwave. KitchenAid engineers integrated to 2-step process to set and start the microwave. You have to quickly input the time and press the start button twice-once for the preset power setting and then for the run time. Also, you must engage the stop button twice to unlock the door. Too complex for normal use. Otherwise, the unit operates as designed.

Microwave = short life. Customer service = poor.

After less than 4 years, my KitchenAid microwave KMCS3022GSS3 has begun to make explosive sounds and shoot sparks inside the oven when doing as simple a task as warming a cup of tea or making oatmeal. While that was disappointing, it was dwarfed by my disappointment with customer care. Although I listened carefully to the prompts and followed the path for countertop appliances like our microwave, I was send to major appliances where the phone was never answered. I gave up after 15 minutes. I am so deeply disappointed by the surprisingly short useful life of this product and the poor customer service experience that I am afraid my once favorable view of the Kitchenaid brand has been negatively impacted by this experience.
