I needed a refrigerator to fit a specific space in my kitchen and wanted black. This unit fit the requirements. The water and ice maker work perfectly. While there were only three shelves in the freezer, I contacted Whirlpool and order two additional class shelves approximately 11 x 11 inches. Given the great price on my original purchase price, this didn't bother me too much. Yes, the extra shelves should have been included as many other reviewers mentioned. I am pleased to buy a product made in the USA.

Because of space and decor requirements we needed a counter depth side-by-side with front water and ice dispenser and in black. There was this model and a GE version. Whirlpool had the better rating but not great. Ice maker noise is a bit irritating but is intermittent. Shelf arrangement is somewhat difficult to work with in both the refrigerator and freezer. It is lacking a cover for the butter compartment.

Bad Points - Workmanship was not great. Doors are out of line. Plastic wrap to protect doors is nearly impossible to remove completely. Freezer needs at least one more shelf. The temp is much lower than displayed, freezing items on the top shelf. The shelving in the freezer is inadequate. Therr are gals between shelves and walls of fridge. Refrigerator Is Fine - Freezer Shelves NOT Fine!

We like the fit and finish of this unit. We don't like that it is missing two freezer shelfs!!!! Didn't I pay enough? I tried to go online and order the freezer shelves but gave up after dealing with Whirlpool customer service...horrible customer service!!! The refrigerator is also louder than our old which wouldn't bother if we had received the freezer shelves!

Nice buy VERY NOISY

This replaced my 22 year old Amana. It was big, clunky and silent. Sorry to see it go. I chose this fridge because of the counter depth. Size and styling are nice. Could use an additional shelf or drawer in the freezer. It does the job, but wow, it is noisy. I thought I would get used to the sounds after several weeks, but no. I hear the loud whirring and humming no matter where I am in my house.

I have bought this refrigerator about three months ago. It finally made it to my house with no issues so far. We waited a very long time for this fridge. We love the design. We had a very expensive fridge before with all the bells and whistles, but this fridge doesn't not even match to what we have now. I hope I can have this same emotion with this fridge for years come. Only time can tell.

Some disappointing features

I have had this refrigerator for 9 days, and on the whole I'm happy with it. I can see into it and I'm not bumping my head on the top freezer every time I need to get something out of it. (My old refrigerator) My only issue is with the shelf placement. We had to re-arrange the shelves several times in order for the door to close on the refrigerator side.

Great Experience With Refrigerator and Installatio

We love our new Whirlpool - the side-by-side design and beautiful exterior blends perfectly with our kitchen and we are super excited about not having to bend over to access frozen items from a roll out drawer. We also had a flawless installation experience - installers showed up on time, were courteous and did a wonderful job. The unit is spacious and the interior lighting is bright making everything both readily accessible and easy to see.

Great Refrigerator for the Price!

I purchased this refrigerator November 29, 2018 and it was just delivered 2 weeks ago. However, I was told there would be a delay. The refrigerator is great for the price I paid. The only con would be that it's noisy compared to our last one. All in all, I'm happy with this purchase.

I waited quite a while for this product to arrive because of a factory backorder over Christmas. The price and other terms Lowe's offered made the wait acceptable. The unit seems efficient, runs quietly, and has ample room for a lower capacity counter-depth design. The only thing that stands out in terms of unit noise is the sound of ice dropping and the ice machine refilling. Personally, I don't mind that because it tells me that the thing is working correctly. The design of the freezer door results in a very tight clearance between the door molding and the unit's center divide. Unless the unit is exactly level and the door perfectly aligned, there may be slight contact between the surfaces as the door closes. It has no trouble cooling, and was ready to load a couple of hours after powering on. The ice bin is smaller, but the rate of ice production is rapid once it gets going. The door ice and water dispensing switches are a bit quirky, but get easier as one gets used to them. I do like the dispense option for the water side which allows the user to select the amount in ounces, press "dispense", and you no longer have to hold the switch open with the cup.

Nice Side by Side

I don't have any real complaints yet. I like the lighting and the Ice maker. One thing I don't like is that it has some foam insulation from manufacturing around the edge of the door that I will have to clean out.
